Not sure i love that move for Saldate but I’m not him. Best luck to him as I’d love to see him AA

Best of both worlds for me.  I would have been happy wherever he landed.  He put his four years in as a Spartan.

I am curious if he has aims to represent Mexico at 74 KG in the future...?

Is he Mexican? My impression is that he's gonna go straight to MMA anyway.

I thought Saldate could end up at Indiana with his boy/bro in law Henry Porter and with Brayton Lee out of eligibility. I think his younger brother is also going to be playing football up the road at Notre Dame. Good get for Michigan though.

125: Nolan Wertanen / Chris Cannon (can he make this weight??)

133: Dylan Ragusin / Chris Cannon

141: Sergio Lemley

149: Dylan Gilcher

157: Chase Saldate

165: Beau Mantanona

174: Cameron Amine

184: Jaden Bullock / Rylan Rogers

197: Rylan Rogers / Transfer Portal

285: Ira Jenkins / Transfer Portal

I could see some room in the lineup for Tristan Lujan if Cannon cannot make 125

That would be a hell of a lineup if Cannon could cut to 125 but he looked pretty big for 133 a couple of years ago. I think we're more likely to see Rags and Cannon at 133 and 141 or vice-versa, and Lemley RS. Does Canon have just 1 year left?

I think he actually has two left after getting a medical for last year - using one redshirt, and getting the free covid year

Saldate's going to get a lot better in that room.  He's a blood round guy, went toe to toe with Haines this year, but doesn't really have a stable of guys to push him and keep him developing.  He'll probably get beat on for a while, got some big whoppers of dudes in that room, but that's also the environment he came from in high school.  He got good by getting tossed around by Khabib and his Dagestani buds before college.  I think Saldate will be 5th/6th next year.

Got it. I also forgot that Rags burned his shirt this year so Bormet's got options for the next couple of seasons

Caleb Fish at 165 would be a decent grab for someone.  He majored in business and wants to be in finance or accounting for his grad program.  He personally enjoys hunting.  So a rural school with good finance/accounting.  Illinois, NC State or maybe Oklahoma.

Oklahoma had a Michigan guy ay the helm.

They also have twp comparable guys in Cael Carlson and Nachohouse at 165lbs.

Carlson to me seems decidedly worse than Fish and 9House has been at backup 174 this past year.  Maybe he got tired of sucking down

this is gonna destroy college wrestling. You'll have a hyper minority of teams buying all the talent and teams will start getting dropped faster and faster

I'm at point I really think at least a couple of the coaches know this and just are trying to win as much as possible before it crashes down.

And I've gotten sick of people responding to simply taking logical conclusions about where this is going with

1. claiming it's just being mad about it not being my team

2. Pretending these trends aren't concerning while fb and bb are discussing them openly

so it is what it is. I'll enjoy it while it lasts

Carlson does own the series edge on Fish, FWIW.

Watch Wyatt Hendrickson end up there

Looks like a pin from a match over two years ago.  Fish has been R12 and R16 last two years and Carlson didn't even qualify this year.  Fish is an AA threat for me

Yup.. 99% of the schools are now just feeder schools for the other 1%

I did say FWIW.

I also did not out much stock in it.

Lillard and Gilcher both there, though.

From the team you cheer for who do you pick as the next wrestler from your favorite team to transfer?

From Oklahoma State my next guess to transfer is Carter Young.   He started last season at 141 and red shirted this season, and with Tegan Jamison starting this season I find it hard to believe he can beat Jamison or Williams at 149.  So he would be my pick to leave.
