PSU still got 7.5 bonus pts in that round, and that is with Davis and Starocci both shutting their offense off in the 3rd.

Yes, I believe the most of any team.  But don't let that get in the way of a fun narrative for the haters.  It's tourney time!

And while I did not mention it, both of them were a TD away from major when they shut it down.

Looks like a few Penn State guys spent the past week reading their press clippings instead of working hard in the room.

A team that in the past has been kown for Bonus points looks like they don't believe they matter.

5 out of the 8 PSU guys who won got tech falls.   What are you talking about?

Carter wrestled a smart match.  I was extremely impressed.  Came on here and the narrative is he sucked.  So, take it for what it is.  I remember Nolf was going to lose to Kem then Micah after only winning 6-1 over Crone in R2 (2018)...Too injured, didn't look good, etc etc

He looks to be in the 80 to 85 % range, which should be good enough for him to win it. He will need to use his shots and scrambles wisely.

Bernie Tru looks to stop the Penn St bleeding with a bonus point victory

Sorry, missed the penn state bleeding. Ngao was the most iffy of the ten PSU wrestlers, so let’s see what he can do on the backside. And yeah I had big hopes for kasak, but nick lee got head locked and pinned his freshman year and came back for 5th. It’s still pretty early.

I'd say it is too early to count PSU out.   I'd like to but I think it is just too early.

So you are saying they have a chance

You have the seasoned 7th or 8th year veteran vs the new kid on the block. Both tough gritty wrestlers. Should be a good one.

I'll of course be pulling for Bouzakis, but I believe Fix, handles him. McCrone wrestled a good match to Ramos, he's got a tough consi match. Mendez was good. D'Emilio looked good. Wilcox wins the pigtail, loses to Haines and has Mauller in the consis. Welsh was fine. Rogotzke reaches back and gets that shoulder whip again turns it into a head lock and gets a fall. Geog doesn't look interested. Feldman looked great and he misses Trephan who was upset by Hill.

To be honest, I think Nolf looked a little better moving in his injury tournament than Starocci looked this afternoon. I think he is compromised in certain movements.

Now, in Davis's favor I saw him place the tips of his five fingers of his left hand on the mat repeatedly in somewhat of a weight bearing position. Maybe what ever was bothering him can be sorted out without it being much of a problem.

Can you imagine how good the Hawkeyes could have done this round at 197 if they let Ferarri on the team instead of the guy who just lost to the 26 seed?
