Big 12 Projected Seeds/Interactive Bracket

Recommended Posts

Final one. They also have random draw after 8 so the byes will move around and there will be some really good wrestlers getting randomly placed in the bracket. Again, I am just a nobody wrestling fan so feel free to let me know where you think I went wrong. I plan to update these after pre-seeds and brackets are announced for all of the weights. I hope you enjoyed them.

Big 12 Interactive Brackets

Interactive Brackets: use the interactive brackets using the following letters: D, M, T, F (decision, major, tech, fall).

Seed changes: You can change those seeds on the 125R, 133R, 141R, etc. sheets and it will automatically update the team predictions based off of seeds with no bonus factored in.

Wow, the Big 12 looks pretty strong based on those seedings. The Big 10 is still the granddaddy, but the Big 12 is strong.

Really? I was going to say the opposite. Other than 165,184,197,285 these look very week. Swiderski #1, Gaitan 2??? That is weak

They are ranked 6,8,14,15,16 in latest Flo rankings. I wouldn’t call that “pretty good”, especially compared to Big 10 of 1,2,4,5,9,11,12.

Do rankings at 125 mean anything this year?  🤔

haha... rankings at 125... #1 Ramos lost to Smith who Volk beat 2x.  I'm sticking with it - 125 is pretty solid.

Colton Hawks, Was ranked in the last rankings which means they put him as the starter. He may be the 4th or 5th seed since he beat Feldkamp.

So they aren't going to wrestle Whiting?

I hope not unless Clayton is injured. Hawks although a National Qualifier last year, isn’t better than Clayton. Whiting gives us the best chance. He was ranked around 10th before this new set of rankings. The Hawks/Feldcamp match was super sloppy, after Feldcamp missed a month. Feldcamp was going upper body and Hawks countered it for 7. Feldcamp cut him the other two trying to mount a comeback.

Hawks best wins #5 Salazar and #10 Feldkamp this year.  Whiting best wins are #29 Dennis Robin and #30 Tony Negron. His win against Hawks doesn't count. So Hawks is the best choice for seeds and if an at-large is needed.

“Solid” is different than “Big 12 is pretty strong” that I originally responded to from a different poster. As usual, Big 12 is pretty weak compared to Big 10 except for the weights I mentioned.

Yes unbiased 3rd party rankings, what else is better to go on lol. And 2 or 3 “could” AA at bottom of podium. Lol that doesn’t sound like pretty strong.

So you didn't know how to respond to ":solid" so you changed the word to "strong"?  If you move the goalpost just a little further maybe your next response will be "invincible"

3 guys from the same conference AA in the same weight isn't pretty strong...... okay.

Follow the string - you originally responded to my post that I didn’t agree with the other poster’s comment that Big 12 was pretty strong. YOU are the one that moved the goalpost by lowering it to solid.

And he said “could” AA. That doesn’t mean they will or even agree they could. Big deal, the Big 10 “could” have 6-8 AA in every weight. In both football and wrestling, the Big 12 has lumped together all these teams that other conferences didn’t want and now trying to pass off as an elite conference.

That I understand. However, Whiting earned the right to start and try to qualify himself. Unless he’s injured I don’t see someone starting all year, minus some duals and him not being able to start the postseason. Hawks has been the backup to both 184/197 all year.

I forgot Hawks also beat #20 Ayzerov of Columbia (that is three top 20 wins as compared to zero by Whiting). Whiting beat hawks 4-1 in Sudden Victory. I mean that is the slightest of margins. Maybe Hawks has turned it around on Whiting as of recently. If so with those wins he would have to be a no brainer. This is nothing against Whiting in any way. But, taking all things into consideration. It is probably the right choice as it was last year. When Harman beat Hawks during the season. But Hawks had wins over guys who beat Harman and better wins overall. It is a tough decision. Remember, Hawks was #10 ranked coming into the season.  Personally, I think either one would be a great choice. But if you look at it by what has happened this season. Hawks is probably the right choice.

The string:

125 is pretty "week"

#1 -#5 is pretty solid

I wouldn't call that  pretty strong

I didn't, I called it solid

Solid is different pretty strong ...

yeah that's why i used "Solid"
