Threadkilla
With the addition of four new Big Ten schools: USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington this year, will the new additions start wrestling programs in 2024 or later? How will title 9 affect the new schools? Funding wouldn't appear to be an issue. The current 14 schools in the B10 all have wrestling. Oregon and Washington both had teams in the past. Threadkilla
Can you imagine Maryland or Rutgers and vice versa having to travel to Washington or California with some regularity?

They were talking about using Dallas/Fort Worth as a competition hub. The teams from the coasts would meet there. This is for the “Olympic” sports. Football and basketball would still travel to the coasts. Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

Unfortunately, despite this deal being a cash cow of gigantic proportions, it’s not going to result in any new sports being added at those schools, IMO. Now, would they have a hard time recruiting at USC? Hell no. They’d have plenty of kids wanting to go there. But most Olympic sports just aren’t worth it for most schools. My dad is a Penn State grad and is clamoring for an excuse for my parents to go to SoCal, catch a game and stay at my aunt and uncle’s house.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
