Okie State vs Iowa State - 1/27

Recommended Posts

Should be a good dual. Wrestlestat has it 21-9 OSU with the swing matches basically going all OSU's way.

125 - Spratley vs Terukina

133 - Fix vs Frost

141 - Jamison vs Echemendia

149 - Williams/Alvarez vs Redding/Swiderski

157 - Travis vs Chittum

165 - Olejnik vs Carr

174 - Thompson vs Gaitan

184 - Plott vs Feldkamp

197 - Surber vs Broderson

285 - Doucet vs Bastida

I have it more a lot closer depending on Swiderski's availability..

I feel WS is off a bit here, this looks like a razor thin dual meet, at least half the matches toss ups and overall could go either way.  This is old old school match up, will there be robes?  Looking forward to it!  🙂

This could be a great dual. Hope all starters go.

Yep, should be a great one if we have full lineups.  Swiderski has been banged up hasn't he?

I have....

Spratley over Terukina - 3-0 OSU

Fix MD Frost - 7-0 OSU

Echemendia over Jamison - 7-3 OSU

***Swiderski over Alvarez/Williams - 7-6 OSU, the other way around if he doesn't wrestle.

Chittum over Travis - 9-7 ISU

Carr over Olejnik - 12-7 ISU

Thompson over Gaitan - 12-10 ISU

Plott MD Feldkamp - 14-12 OSU (I think Feldkamp goes for something and Plott gets him on his back for a 4)

Surber over Broderson - 17-12 OSU

Bastida over Doucet - 17-15 OSU

Hopefully my calculations were correct haha

fly will check the math 😉

This is more like the close scored I'd expect.

Yeah, wrestlestat is great for a ton of things, but sometimes the dual outcomes/matchups are questionable. Should be an excellent dual.

133, 197, and 285, are the only matches that are guaranteed.  Lots of possibility among the other weights

I agree, but I think Plott is also pretty far ahead of Feldkamp.

141 should be exciting too.

Skill-wise Plott is leaps ahead of Feldkamp.

Feldkamp is considerably larger, longer, and better at pinning, though.  He will have a punchers chance against anyone who doesn't hold a combination of two or more of elite skill, elite speed, elite strength, or extreme length advantage on him.

Example of the balance of the Top 10 I only think there are three guys he doesn't have a pinners chance against in Keckeisen, Truax, and Foca.  Keckeisen is too good, Truax too long, and Foca too athletic.

Belton who's athletic beat Jamison I think Ech wins this one easily. I have Oklahoma st winning the dual. They win 125 133 157 174 184 197

I see an upset or two brewing in either direction.

Always a homer, I want to see our new guys continue to elevate and prove themselves.

Plott and Olejnik both get two top ten opponents today and tomorrow. Youch.

Foca beat Feldkamp 8-7 in the dual. I would say he has a chance to deck him as well.

I never said he couldn't beat Foca outright.  I don't think he would deck him.

Mind you, every single person never has a 0% chance of being decked, so let's say it is <1% chance that Keckeisen, Truax, and Foca have at being decked.

Williams wrestled for Okie State vs UNI and Swiderski wrestled vs Oklahoma tonight.

So signs pointing to a Williams/Swiderski match, or will John Smith throw a wrench and put Alvarez in?

Truax has been pinned 12x in his college career, most of them earlier in his career ... once each the past two seasons.... Foca and Keck have never been pinned. So I am going to pull Truax down to 2%.
