Hammerlock3
I'm gonna pick it as generously as I possibly can for Michigan... DeAugustino dec Davis (3-0) Ragusin dec Nagao (6-0) Bartlett Dec Lemley (6-3) Gomez Maj Kasak (10-3) Lewan dec Haines (13-3) (in keeping with the super michigan optimism I decided to give them 157 or 174) Amine dec Mesenbrink (16-3) Starocci dec Griffin (16-6) Truax dec Bullock (16-9) Brooks maj Striggow (16-13) Davison dec Kerk (19-13) Ok so, with my finger on the scale at every weight in michigans favor......I'm telling you there's a chance.... 2 1 "Half measures are a coward's form of insanity." You definitely did that. If these are the actual matches, PSU has a non-zero chance of shutting them out. Do I think a shutout will happen? No, I do not. Would I be completely shocked? No, I would not. It would be one of the most impressive things I've seen in college wrestling if PSU would shut out a team with as many good wrestlers as Michigan.

I will say that I would be more surprised by a PSU shut out than a Michigan victory. However if Michigan drops the first two matches I'm gonna be putting on my PSU hat and cheering for it. buckshot
How can you pick Griffith over Starocci? I mean, if you're going to just make stupid picks you might as well give Michigan the shutout.

Thats kind of the one thing I couldn't do for Michigan, give them both lewan and griffin. One is possible not both. "Half measures are a coward's form of insanity." nhs67
I think we have a better chance of seeing Lemley beat Bartlett, Kasak beat Gomez, AND Davis beat DeAuggie than we do see Griffith beat Sta(l)rocci. He's just that much better than anyone else at 174lbs this year. "I know actually nothing. It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me

I believe Kasak didn't compete in high school last year and instead spent the majority of it in the PSU room, a grayshirt scenario of sorts. He may be a bit more seasoned than the true freshmen that entered their respective wrestling rooms this summer/fall.
CHROMEBIRD
I mentioned in the other thread that Kasak will pull it off with game planning, gas tank, and better scrambling. Experience and size difference be damned. Amine will be wrestling with a chip on his shoulder after last week, and will put the brakes on Messenbrink. Ragusin over Nagao. DeAug over Davis in a nail biter, but we'll be biting our nails out of boredom.
