197 Surber? #11 v.Mac Stout #16
285 Doucet #16 v. Dayton Pitzner #10

Some storylines for grins...

Will the Cowboys stay hot and get a shutout? Will Luke Surber be back? Can Jordan Williams wrestle a solid match without relying on funk? Will freshmen Troy Spratley and Brayden Thompson continue to separate themselves from the competition?

Broadcast on ACC Network Extra. No idea what that means - maybe ESPN?

Espn+ if you have the proper TV provider.

Surprised to see Doucet beating Pitzer.

Doucet pulled out a good stall-win.  In a tournament setting doucet actually gets hit for stalling, and pitzer likely finds a way to get the win.  Doucet was reeeeal close to a danger count in their last scramble, it wouldn't have been unjustified.  Okie State mopped the floor with Pitt though, so at that point no real reason for a ref to get cute with those calls.

Yeah, I was in attendance last night and even as a Pitt fan I have to say it was pretty much of a beatdown.  Too bad, too, since it looked like a sell-out of the Fieldhouse, but they didn't have much to cheer about.  Augustine won in OT by riding out on top for the first thirty seconds, then got his escape on bottom.  Stout looked good in his match with an evenly ranked wrestler - was the aggressor for most of the match and survived some good scrambles.  And I agree with @wrestle87 that Pitzer probably could/should have won his match.  Although the OkieState heavy surprised me (and maybe Pitzer too) by hitting a roll midway through the match.  The lightweights got torched.  Some of the Pitt wrestlers gave up 3 or 4 ankle picks/low singles in one match.  Lots of video to review there to get better.

Sunday's home dual against Iowa State looks to be more of the same, except no one will be there because the Steelers's playoff game against the Bills is on TV at the same time.

Are we talking about a heavy match with minimal scoring where there mightve been some stall'n going on?  Two heavies pushing each other .... has it ever happen before?  Doucet looked like the slicker wrestler (if you can say that about heavies) in this match.

Nah, we’re talking about a match where one wrestler initiated all the action, and the other hung in a collar tie.

It was classic mid-00’s big boy wrestling where one guy does nothing, and the other barely does anything.

Heavyweight, and the world seems to have moved beyond that thankfully, but it is awful when it reappears.

Doucet is good at minimizing scores.  Last year his widest loss was to Hendrickson 12-3; he lost to Parris 5-3.
