You gents know I always root for the B1G over the other conferences... but ouch!

How did the Carr - Hamiti match look?  2-0, so I am assuming escape Carr and a rideout?

What ... I thought there were no other conference.  A non conference team blanked a conference team.  Say it ain't so and shouldn't this 'State' school be more interested in whether journalists are asking the right questions than prepping for a b10 opponent?  🙄

Now are people going to start talking about Bono being replaced? If so, by who? I like Reeder, but would Wiscy give the keys to Reeder?

don't you think its a bizarre move to replace an ousted coach with his assistant?

There is recent precedence in the B1G.

Michigan and Michigan State both did it.

Basically.

It may get loud if they lose to Michigan State, Northwestern, and Purdue.

A loss to Iowa State isn't so bad.  42-0 looks it but it really isn't.

Wisconsin if they are going to replace Bono - should hire one of the guys cozy with AWA.  But if that don't go that route, maybe hire Kyle Burwick.

As did Minnesota during the J-rob fiasco.

Completely different situations. Bono and Reader aren’t getting it done. I most definitely wouldn’t replace Bono with Reader. They grind their guys down to nothing. Take away the portal guys (Gross, Gomez, etc..)and they’ve brought in very few top talent guys. Guys are all treated differently. You’re either one of their guys, or you’re just a body in the room.

I see what you are trying to say here.

That said, someone else might see this as a bit of a contradictory statement.

Guys, this Iowa State team is vastly underrated right now due to weight acclimation and new faces in the lineup.  Guys like the Frost brothers, Echemendia, Chittum, Gaittan are all contenders for mid-AA honors and right now they are ranked 18th, 27th, 19th, and 22nd.  Echemendia might be the guy at 141 instead of one of the Frost brothers, but I think you get the point.

Wiscy, on the other hand?  This is rebuild year for them.  They don't have any incoming transfers to blow our socks off (hrmm.... perhaps that fiacso with Burwikk showed everyone what Bono's actual character is like huh?) and their biggest name is on Oly-shirt.  I think they will be fine.  They have a lot of youth in their lineup that needs experience.

It was just a piss-poor matchup for them against an ISU squad that most people don't understand just how good they are.

Honestly this was a just a bad individual match-up for Wisconsin and was easy to see coming.

There are those who did see it coming. 😛

Hamiti is not taking an Oly RS.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

I am not ready to say that Evan Frost is a contender for AA honors yet. He was teched by Burwikkkkk in the last 8 months. Echemendia could be that guy but we have yet to see him against AA level of competition and his past results have been meh. Chittum and Gaitan could be those guys but that is more of a projection than based on the facts that we currently have. Chittum is a blue chip but largely unknown at this point. I think he has the juice to be in the AA conversation though. Gaitan was 9-5 last year with loses to Luca Augustine, Julien Broderson, Tyler Eischens, Nelson Brands and James Rowley. His best win was Lance Runyon.. the resume does not scream AA contender just yet. Could he get there?? Sure.

Hamiti is not their biggest name, Amos is.  Amos has already been on a senior level world team.  How close has Hamiti gotten to that?  Has he even wrestled at a senior level tournament?

Gaitan is much like tOSU's Geog.

They have both grown in to the weight.  Last year they were frosh-babies.

We will see on everything else.

I don't like Echemendia.  I think beating the shit out of your SO is a no-go and puts a black mark on the coaching staff for being willing to allow that sort of scum in the room.

The same can be said for Northern Colorado with that douche-bag Baylor Fernandez.
