IMO, National Champs and All-Americans matter much more than NCAA team points.  I would much rather be fan of a team with many AAs and than feeling good about my team finishing 7th or 8th in team points.

I know of course, that the number of champs and AAs do align closely with team placement

The data clearly shows PSU, Iowa, OkSt, tOSU, and Mizzou, in that order, is the answer to the OP.

One could argue swapping tOSU and OkSt. And I suppose you could try to argue Cornell above Mizzou, but considering Mizzou was ranked higher than Cornell in 6 of 9 weights in 2020(neither had a ranked HWT), I’d lean towards Mizzou (shocking, I know). Nonetheless, Cornell and Mizzou are neck and neck for 5th.

There is considerable distance between those 5 and whoever one would rank 7-10.  VT, NCsT, Minny, and either Michigan or Nebraska would round out the top 10.

You’re welcome.
