yeah, but they don’t want to ethnically cleanse gaza….

This gathering was organized by a far-right group, not the Israeli government. The Israeli government has made it clear that this is not their intention at all.

Doesn't seem quite right that you left that (very important) part out.

In today's climate of misinformation and protesters being paid by competing governments, it's impossible to say. That far-right group may be supported by external forces. Maybe some Arab countries, maybe Israeli citizens. Nobody knows just yet.

We shall see.

removing a group (that continually engages in terrorism) does not = genocide, you disingenuous dope.

also, good morning.

Palestinians /= Hamas. 25,000 dead, overwhelmingly civilians, is genocidal behavior.

The ICJ just found South Africa’s charge of genocide to be plausible in its preliminary hearing and ordered Israel to prevent further genocidal actions/incitement and also preserve evidence for hearings to come.

Hamas getting a taste of its own medicine.  All of a sudden it’s bad when Israel does it. 🤦‍♂️

Israel is an actual country with a government that has ratified the geneva conventions. I personally think they should be held to a higher standard than a terror organization and not commit war crimes.

Well I personally think hamas shouldn’t use kids as human shields.  which is far worse (lower standard) than anything Isreal has done.

Oh and hamas is the government there. They haven’t let it’s people vote in over a decade.

This is complete nonsense.   Here is what you are proposing.   Let Hamas do what they want and retreat like cowards.   Don't allow Israel to forcefully find these miscreants.   If Israel somehow gets ahold of them, they can put them on trial only.   Israel cannot declare war on Hamas no matter what Hamas does to them.

That is where your line of illogic leads.

Hamas was brutal and indiscriminate.   Israel has the right to do the same.   You will notice Israel took no unilateral action until Hamas attacked.   There was a peace so to speak.   Israel did not decide to invade Gaza.   Gaza decided to invade Israel.   And now Israel cannot defend itself.

Why? So, the terrorists can continue freely taking 'pot shots' and planning 'smash and grabs' on Israel?

Nope. That ended on 10/7. That behavior became no longer acceptable.

Then it got ugly and continues to be ugly. But no uglier than terrorism.

I suspect that is the root of any and all disagreement here. Some think terrorism is justifiable - others of us do not.

What did Israel do to violate the Geneva conventions?  We celebrated and then made a movie about the U.S. "illegally" entering Pakistan to kill Bin Laden. We accept that the military is allowed to kill members of terrorist organizations-is that such a terrible thing?

Genocidal behavior would be to wipe out all Gazans.    Has that been attempted?

that is not the actual definition of genocide.

"the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group."

25,000+ dead and rising and almost all of Gaza levelled including most of their civil infrastructure. This campaign is clearly aimed at ethnically cleansing Gaza for Israeli settlement, dispersing the survivors into neighboring countries.

If you want to make an argument why don't you post the actual link to the Guardian article/map instead of some X post that could be anything and has no time stamp info.
