Terry Brands applied for the UNC Head Coach job?

Have you watched any film?

Terry is essentially what Brett Venables was to Dabo Swinney at Clemson. A highly energetic and highly skilled coach that is a bit of a maniac. Venables is coaching football at Oklahoma now. Terry would be highly desired.

Any school? I don't think so.  He wasn't at the top of UNC's list, nor Stanford's, nor will he be for Princeton.

Are we going to pretend he isn't who he is?  He's an attack dog. He's notoriously hot tempered. He's confrontational with officials, fans, and opposing wrestlers.  He hasn't been a head coach in 20 years.  The last time he was, he bailed after 3 seasons.  Some of his conduct you'd be surprised to see from a young coach in their 20's, let alone a guy in his mid 50's.  Are you imagining he's interviewing well--or do you think some AD's might be put off by the thousand yard stare?

I don't dislike the guy or anything.  He's entertaining as hell as a spectator.  He's just not head coach material.

So is it safe to say Espo "bailed" on OSU too?  Because when Terry left UTC it was to coach at the OTC.   The year he left UTC they finished 21st at NCAA's and had 2 AA's when they hadn't had any in the prior 13 years.

I'm an Iowa hater but don't you think it's a little unfair to assume Terry hasn't matured or evolved as a coach in the last 20 years?

Did you listen to the "You don't like tough wrestling" diatribe in 2021, or watch the Flo doc where he wants to fight someone he bumped into?

I’m a big fan of the time when he accused Aaron Brooks of cheating (in the same match where his son bit Brooks) at B1Gs two years ago when taking blood or injury time.

Top recruits and have these results?  Don't think he'll be a Head Coach or assistant anywhere but Iowa.

Now do the Hawkeye NCAA placement over the same time span and compare it to every other team not named PSU.

How many NC does the entire PAC12 conference have combined have in 16 years (hint: It's less)?

Using your logic he should be a more successful HC than every single coach that has coached in the P12?

I feel as if Wkn already did this a year or two ago?

It isn't even close.  They're the top Bridesmaid.

I thought he scratched him?  I don't remember a bite.  Big difference from a referee's perspective.

"Left out Metcalf lol." Acknowledged the error an hour ago, lol.  "A recruiting video with all his coaching highlight" would be very short.  The Brands brothers can stay in Iowa City and place 2nd, 3rd, or 4th every year like they've done previously in the 16 years (excluding 2020) of their reign.  Don't think the great Dan Gable would be satisfied with these results based on the domination he achieved, was a glorious time for the Hawkeyes.

Terry Brands can absolutely coach wrestling.  That wasn't my point at all.  I think just about every staff in the country would love to have him on it.  There are countless guys that he has developed and made better.

The question is whether he's a guy you want leading your program from the top.  Answering directly to a boss that isn't his brother.  Dealing with boosters.  Administration.  Fundraising. Recruiting.  Media.  Marketing.  Navigating the NIL landscape.

He could do well at a smaller program.  I just don't think the money will make sense.
