Twitter is better

So, what I gathered from this 12-page thread is if you vote "D" you LOVED how twitter was run before Elon and defend it because "it is a private company" for all it's censorship, and post Elon you HATE how twitter is run, but seem to conveniently ignore the "it is a private company" thing...and thus you criticize Elon for doing the exact same thing Dorsey was doing.

Here is a thought...if you don't like twitter, or it's owner, don't use it.  If you want to hear nothing but left-wing crap, listen and read CNN, MSNBC, ABC, etc....if you want to hear nothing but right-wing crap, listen and read Fox.  If you are in the middle (like me), read both websites and then sit back and shake your head at the ridiculousness of each and how people just believe what they read...and I should say, believe the headlines they read.

Just find it odd that someone would not want to think for themselves and would rather let a news outlet and/or a politician tell them how to think and act.  And then get hostile and call people names because they think differently than you.  SMH

There is another theory for what Elon Musk is up to...

TL;DR: The conservative market for electricity is not correlated to wokeness.  The electric car's performance and value are not good enough yet.  It will be.

The outside-the-box thinking is excellent.  That shoe does not fit.  Why bite the hand that feeds him while gaining little in return?

I don't know conservatives that think about electric vehicles as woke, liberal crap.  Discussions around mining's impact on the environment for battery creation, battery recycling, the immediate need, etc... have opinions.  I know several conservatives that own Teslas.  Many were against electric cars because they were too inconvenient to charge.  That is changing.

The benefit of rapid acceleration is muffled on speed-limited, busy roads.  The mileage between battery charges is inferior.  As a driver, I prefer the rumbling sound over ninja silence.  As mileage between charges improves, charge time improves, and automated driving takes off, I'll pick the quiet comfort of an electric vehicle as a passenger.  Read a book, play a game, and have a conversation.  Until then, shake and bake.  Electric is cool but not worth owning just yet.

I've seen bumper/window stickers on lifted pickups with 8" exhaust pipes sticking vertically out of the bed, spewing black smoke that indicate some conservatives feel that way. They aren't the type with the mental capacity to make arguments re the environmental impact or benefits of electric vs petroleum, however.

Rolling coal looks awesome.  Terrible air to breathe.  Is there enough people doing it on the roads to be a problem?  Is this the group that musk is trying to attract?  Maybe if Tesla added a black tinted water steamer to the cyber truck.  It could also emit 🔥.  Now that’s cool!  Still needs the ability to replace the F250+ for blue collar work.

When I read or hear comments such as yours I'm always curious to know how you get your news and information.

What's accurate and sources that you trust?

Good question...what I have found is when I read a story on either of the two websites (since I don't watch news on tv) i compare what the other site says about the same thing...then the key is to google it and find a source close to where said "thing" happened and it usually fills in the  blanks and/or I can piece things from all the news sources I read to garner what is fact through all the opinion and narrative.  There are news outlets online that are old school and just tell you the facts without interjecting their opinion...or my favorite ruse, their "analysis".  🙄

Thanks for responding.  I'm always curious how people then get their news and information,  given cynicism that they may have. I'm actually impressed at your last sentence though,  as you're 100% correct and it's exactly how I get my news.

I've said it on here many times before,  but an old friend of mine was a local newspaper reporter/ journalist for 33 years and he said the formula that journalists are taught goes back to how we were taught to write as kids: who,  what,  where,  when,  why,  and how.  The old school news sources/reporters give you exactly that and the only thing that qualifies for news,  in my mind.

The FBI & intelligence community discredited factual information about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings both after and *before* The New York Post revealed the contents of his laptop on October 14, 2020.

It might be worth 5.42/share if things don't go too far downhill from here.

And yet there will be buyers at $54.20 for purely cynical reasons. If you own a private asset and there is a transaction you can use that price for valuation purposes (subject to certain GAAP rules). So private equity investors will often overpay for a tranche to defend the valuation of prior tranches (i.e. avoid having to take a write down).

I don't see that happening here.

Twitter's valuation has changed too much for their to be much benefit in these types of tactics.

This is looking like yet another rabbit hole I've seen the 30 percenters go down for 20+ years.

This is just elections are rigged and Pizzagate all over again.

Wowza! Makes one wonder when the boy that cried wolf moment hits.
