Bigbrog
How in the world can someone be upset, or offended, or whatever, that a parent wants a say in their child's education??? @Ban Basketball you literally just tried to bash parents for wanting to be involved in the child's life, including their education. I have to ask, are you a parent?? My guess is no. I am sorry, this is what we need more of,... parents being involved in the kids life's including their education!!! You have to be seriously deranged to think a parent shouldn't be!! Even more deranged to label parents as "domestic terrorists" or call them "poor little uninformed parents"!! The problem is when they insert their ill-informed political beliefs into the education of everyone else. If you don’t like your kids being taught that everyone should be treated equally, home school your kids. Seriously. Keep yourself and your little shithead kids away from me and mine. Your illiterate third grader isn’t being taught a grad school/law school theory. Your kid’s third grade teacher doesn’t know what intersectionality is, and they aren’t teaching it to your kid. They are taught by teachers who infuse CRT into every aspect of what education they do teach. As if it was true, it’s not. As if it were beneficial to think in those terms, it’s not. Here’s an article that may give a little credence to your argument while pointing out that the parents are right, and while they may mix CRT with wokeness, sexual deviance, and general Marxism, they know they don’t want any of it in their children’s classrooms. https://reason.com/2021/07/06/critical-race-theory-nea-taught-in-schools/ I think this accusation is basically correct, and Rufo occasionally appears to admit as much. But if the NEA asserts that CRT is a much broader concept—encompassing anti-capitalism and anti-ableism—and a vital tool for fostering "honesty" in K-12 education, the organization is essentially validating conservative parents' concerns. So, you're ok with these people threatening school board members because they are trying to help in the education of children? If so, why? Parents have always had a say in their childrens' education. I certainly did. It's called attending parent/teacher conferences, assisting the kids at hoe with their work, and knowing the content of information that your kids are being taught. That's REAL involvement, not going to meetings to threaten people and cream like HUD McVeigh Hannity, for God's sake. Owner of over two decades of the most dangerous words on the internet! Baloney. Between my years as an undergraduate, graduate student, and 28 years of teaching sociology (combined, well over 30 years in the social sciences), I've only encountered this idea of "critical race theory" (whatever that is) once in a textbook that only referenced the idea. Yes, there is a theory in sociology called Critical theory, but it's not the same theory. So, in other words, NO< no one is teaching this mythical "critical race theory, at least in the social sciences. And, even is they are, so what? Does education threaten you THAT much? Because according to Marx' notion of the five stages, communism, on any large scale at all, has never happened in the history of the world. Communism is, therefore, really a theoretical concept and has never been realized. So, when people say that Marx is wrong, no no, sir! Marx was dead on right because he cautioned that socialism would be as destructive as capitalism, until full communism is realized, which never happened. Engage Google search...NOW!
