did anyone ever question what their elementary school's curriculum was?

DHS hits ya with a 'domestic terrorist' label for that.

As I posted earlier,  quite a bit more going on than what AM radio is feeding people.

Well ok ... but are you extreme?  You seem kind've extreme trying to ban basketball and all.

Why are you asking me that? You were there over twenty years ago when I told the tale of my name.

No bans even remotely called for by me.

They shouldn’t feel so special, lots of people get them.  AM radio hosts, the president (sometimes they kill them) Supreme Court Justices (they don’t bother them as long as they stay outside of the house and it’s a justice that was appointed by a conservative president) and even kids that refuse to comply with stupid fascist rules.

Itks generally a local law enforcement issue first.

Sounds like you're condoning it.   Good for you!

However, the larger pernt is that if anyone is wondering why poor little uninformed parents are being "targeted" by the big bad police meanies, I simply provided some perspective as to exactly why it's happening.

Do you understand what prompted the concerns of the parents? Do you think the parents had any valid grievances? To clarify I don't condone violence.

How in the world can someone be upset, or offended, or whatever, that a parent wants a say in their child's education???  @Ban Basketball you literally just tried to bash parents for wanting to be involved in the child's life, including their education.  I have to ask, are you a parent??  My guess is no.  I am sorry, this is what we need more of,... parents being involved in the kids life's including their education!!!  You have to be seriously deranged to think a parent shouldn't be!!  Even more deranged to label parents as "domestic terrorists" or call them "poor little uninformed parents"!!  SMH....

I have no problem with people wanting to be involved in their kids education.

The problem is when they insert their ill-informed political beliefs into the education of everyone else. If you don’t like your kids being taught that everyone should be treated equally, home school your kids. Seriously. Keep yourself and your little shithead kids away from me and mine. Your illiterate third grader isn’t being taught a grad school/law school theory. Your kid’s third grade teacher doesn’t know what intersectionality is, and they aren’t teaching it to your kid.

Wow.  Another excellent convincing argument.

If it’s CRT you’re going on about, no, K-12 graders are not afforded the benefit of having CRT as a theory.  They are taught by teachers who infuse CRT into every aspect of what education they do teach.  As if it was true, it’s not.  As if it were beneficial to think in those terms, it’s not.

Here’s an article that may give a little credence to your argument while pointing out that the parents are right, and while they may mix CRT with wokeness, sexual deviance, and general Marxism, they know they don’t want any of it in their children’s classrooms.

I think this accusation is basically correct, and Rufo occasionally appears to admit as much. But if the NEA asserts that CRT is a much broader concept—encompassing anti-capitalism and anti-ableism—and a vital tool for fostering "honesty" in K-12 education, the organization is essentially validating conservative parents' concerns.

You might want to read the article.

Then, here’s this quote:

“It is reasonable and appropriate for curriculum to be informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory.”

What is your argument against that? Note: they aren’t doing it yet; this is about future instruction.

They are using the tortured, conservative-definition of CRT, as opposed to what it actually is, in their position.

Tell me: why do you have an issue with teaching accurate history? Is there a problem with saying that slavery was bad? Sure, those people were stolen from their homes, dying by the dozens en route, tortured, raped, mutilated. But they learned skills! Skills that earned them no money!

Of course I know what "prompted" it.  I'm a 28 year educator myself, and I'm very aware that what "prompted" it was misinformation about what educators actually do, and, more importantly, actually teach.

Nothing more irresponsible than feeding angry, uninformed people misinformation and blowing the dog whistles for them to threaten poor souls who volunteer their times to their communities and their schools.

You should be ashamed to align yourself with terrorists

So, you're ok with these people threatening school board members because they are trying to help in the education of children?  If so, why?

Parents have always had a say in their childrens' education.  I certainly did.  It's called attending parent/teacher conferences, assisting the kids at hoe with their work, and knowing the content of information that your kids are being taught.  That's REAL involvement, not going to meetings to threaten people and cream like HUD McVeigh Hannity,  for God's sake.

Baloney.  Between my years as an undergraduate, graduate student, and 28 years of teaching sociology (combined, well over 30 years in the social sciences), I've only encountered this idea of "critical race theory" (whatever that is) once in a textbook that only referenced the idea.  Yes, there is a theory in sociology called Critical theory, but it's not the same theory.

So, in other words, NO< no one is teaching this mythical "critical race theory, at least in the social sciences.  And, even is they are, so what?  Does education threaten you THAT much?

Good grief!  That is the quote from the union that they removed from their website after said article was released.

I don’t know of anybody that disagrees with teaching accurate history, but I’m also aware that accurate historians deem CRT as false fraudulence, based in Marxism.

The idea that bad things happened in the past and that it might inform the future is, apparently, a bridge too far for some people.

What are “accurate historians”?

Here’s an example of CRT:

Redlining was a process in which services were withheld from certain areas. These actions had multiple long lasting impacts on those neighborhoods and their residents.

What do you find wrong with that statement? What is so bad about that?

You are proving yourself to be weak at reading comprehension and likely, critical thinking also.  It was the teachers who informed the parents of what was being taught when the kids were distance learning on their home computers; the parents were monitoring them.

You should be ashamed for your childish, dog whistle, name calling.  Nobody here has aligned with terrorists, but you have aligned yourself with repugnant communists; marxists.

I've only aligned myself with Marxists and communists, my friend!  That's by my own admission and I've never hidden behind it.

Regarding your opening paragraph, baloney.  More misinformation fed to angry, uninformed people who know nothing about how education works.

I can’t imagine why you, of all people, would align yourself with the entity that is responsible for over 100 million deaths in the last century.  You do realize when they take over the first ones they kill are the academics.

Baloney.  SOCIALIST systems have done that, but not Communist "systems."  Why, you ask?  Because according to Marx' notion of the five stages, communism, on any large scale at all, has never happened in the history of the world.  Communism is, therefore, really a theoretical concept and has never been realized.

So, when people say that Marx is wrong, no no, sir!  Marx was dead on right because he cautioned that socialism would be as destructive as capitalism, until full communism is realized, which never happened.
