LJB and Dole went at it and Mike just went away. Those two had some insights that no one else here can provide. Some of the folks here went mad because of the words of those two. Folks aren't nearly as tough as they think they are.

I wondered what happened to those two.  Hopefully @Mike Parrish comes back when worlds start.  @LJB, well.....he walks a fine line.   I didn't see any of their dispute but I trust he went out in an absolute inferno of glory.

i haven't banned anyone, and certainly not Mike.

LJB was, to my understanding, given a temporary ban for posting something obscene.

i'm not a big fan of banning or censoring anyone or any topic but when it occurs, feel free to ask why.

This forum reminds me of an ex-girlfriend I had in my 20s. No matter what I said via text, she took it the wrong way, either thinking I was mad at her, criticizing her or just being mean to her. Use of sarcasm? Oh, hell no. She only thought I was being sarcastic when I was being genuinely nice. After a while, if she texted me, I’d just call her back to respond, even when a short yes or no type of response would suffice. Eventually, I just stopped responding altogether and vowed to never date a self-described “socialist democrat” again… She was basically a Jewish version of AOC but with a smaller nose (paradoxical, I know), who was perpetually offended and a card carrying member of the cult of victimhood.

A 27 year old woman called her mom this past weekend to complain that she wasn’t being fed at a lake house, that the boat was broken, she did not have hot dogs cooked, and after eating food at a restaurant… complained it was cold… boxed her leftovers… then argued for a free meal.  This was an uninvited sister of a friend.

Today a man has asked me for the fifth time to deliver him a Christmas tree that I am giving away for free.  No means no.

 What is wrong with people?

apparently i was wrong about LJB's thing.

I posted an excerpt from “Gender Queer” (a… very… graphic novel) which the other side of the argument insisted did not exist and wasn’t in schools. (It is recommended summer reading by the NEA for all you teachers on here, by the way.) I was warned by Bob, I apologized and the whole thread eventually got nuked (someone else posted similar excerpts from a different book and the thread had pretty much run its course, anyhow). Probably two minutes after the thread got nuked, I jokingly posted a new thread about the upcoming “Disability Pride Month” of July, and the need for us to brush up on our arguments and draft teams for the next 30-page showdown. Bob didn’t appreciate it, and I was much more productive for two weeks… my lawn looks good, painted my den, brushed up on my Spanish, etc.
