U20 and U23s - US - June ‘23

Recommended Posts

Early round action - Cornella hit a sweet duck vs Cholakyan.  Has a multitude of tools.  Wins 11-0 after failed challenge at end.

Forest got up big vs Moore but seemed to be getting a bit tired toward end.  Was slick.

Bassett handled a game D Mendez 10-0.

Spratley made very short work of Estrada.  Looked fast.

You're a Greco-ite LJB. I can understand your frustration here, no?

Hopefully, things may heat up for you eventually.

(Hang in there, bud. 😉)

I know a lot of these kids personally… I’ve been around them for years… So I have to watch them…

free just feels so sloppy to me…

And I won’t even go off on how horrible the par terre is…

But, it is still wrestling, so better than almost anything else on the planet…

You could watch the nuggets.  No denying they are winners!

Thar 86 KG semi-finals was so disappointing on so many levels.

They should both deserve the loss.

1-1 with both being shot clock?  I don't want either to represent the USA.

Also, Riddle wrestled Barr super tough.
Any info on him?

AWA guy from Wisconsin, Willie has him ranked in the low 100’s in his class of 2023 big board. Committed to Minnesota in August of 2022 and has really kinda taken off since then. He looked like he belonged in this bracket much more than I expected.

Could be a legit option at 174 leading up to McEnelly, Nelson, Hopke

I hope he does well.  He looks like he could get a bit bigger and lean out.

Kasak vs Jesse Mendez now.

3-2 Mendez with a minute left. Kasak with the only takedown.

Kasak now winning 3-3 on criteria.

Mendez scores a point in the last two seconds. Didn’t see it.

Argh.

i've said it before and i will say it again...

my younger son has had his ass kicked all over this planet and lilledahl is hands down the best wrestler he has ever wrestled...

they started wrestling each other when they were 8...

i dont think either of them ever won 2 matches in a row against each other...

never more than a 2pt match between them...

love that kid...

Super bummed that Kannon Webster was defeated by Mendez.

Bummed that littlest Braunagel was upset.

Most salty that Hopke didn’t make it out of the bracket. I’m a BIG believer and I thought he would handily dispatch Carroll, who I’m still rooting for as an IL kid.
