Is Taylor going 92?

It would be pretty funny if he let Brooks have the spot and went through the WTT at 92kg.

Pretty sure that’s against the rules but if it’s not, all those 92s would be the big sad.

Yeah that would have been cool/funny as all hell.

The rules do state that once they accept the Final X bid they cannot enter the Open or WTT, though.

Also, perhaps someone more intimate with the process can explain...

What the hell happened at 63 KG?

Because UWW decided to not hold the tournament for 63 KG every Western Hemisphere country can now only send nine wrestlers maximum?  They are allowing the 63 KG guys who did enter to have qualified the weight for their country, however there is a max weight class entry limitation of nine (9) per country now and only for the Western Hemisphere?

I went to the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg just to watch the wrestling.   That was a great day.   McIlravy beat Igali in that meeting but lost to him later in the Olympics.   The match at Pan Ams was very close.   Another great final was Gutches vs Romero.   They got in each other's face, Gutches won I believe.

This is great that we have 2 in the finals already in MFS.   Tomorrow should bring more I'm hoping.

USA Men's Freestyle won the first two weights that were held today. Jordan Burroughs won 79kg and Michael Macchiavello won 92kg. Two other former NCAA wrestlers also medaled at 79kg- Nester Taffur (Colombia, Boston) and Shane Jones (Puerto Rico, Old Dominion). Would be nice if either of those two schools still had wrestling, but alas.

Women's wrestling won the team title with five champs- Hildebrandt, XMP, Velte, Forrest, and Amit. Biggest story was several big time upsets: Dom Parrish lost twice to finish 5th, Kayla Miracle was pinned in the semis and won bronze, and Olympic champ Helen Maroulis lost in her 1st round match and DNP'd.

Men's Greco won six weights (Cuba won the others) and the team title as well. Kamal Bey had a nice win in the finals, nice for guys like Duffield/Scott to bring home gold as well. Copied from a friend.
