Jason Bryant
Released the numbers this morning. For some reason, social shares are pulling in an old graphic, but I assure you, it's 16. https://www.nationalwrestlingmedia.com/2023/04/hawkeyes-lead-division-i-in-wrestling-attendance-for-16th-straight-season/ Edited April 27, 2023 by Jason Bryant 6 Insert catchy tagline here. feet2back
Rutgers again top 5...Next season will be a better year for attendance and more Home dates...If Rutgers lands Griffith the Jersey Mikes Arena will be near capacity for every match. Formally140
I’m actually pleasantly surprised by some of those numbers
11986
Virginia Tech #s look weird. Best is less than their average?
Holtfan
MSU--if you remove the match v. Michigan, they had 4 dates and drew 2298.....or 574 per match--barely outdrawing CMU. We have High Schools in the state which draw better crowds for home contests.
flyingcement
Thanks for sharing. Great data. I would also be interested if we added another column for capacity and then some smaller schools, as a percentage of that capacity (like clarion) wouldn't appear as bad
AgaveMaria
Good for the Iowa fans for such great support for their team. Now if only T&T can sit back and do a critical analysis of why they are not producing Titles and institute changes in the program they might be in the Title chase instead of First Loser. Even Dan Gable had to change how he did some things when his guys stopped winning Team Titles. He did it and the team responded. Can T&T get it done? ” Never attribute to inspiration that which can be adequately explained by delusion”.

A lot of venues list different capacities for different sports as the playing surfaces take up different amounts of space. I thought I heard Tippin Gym's capacity for wrestling is 175. Jason Bryant
Clarion only reported tickets sold and nothing for students that got in either free or with student ID or whatever they do. I whiffed on VT’s high - read the wrong line since that cell doesn’t auto populate. I updated it. 1 Insert catchy tagline here.
