They just went there because they view it as their best chance to reach their ultimate goals. Messenbrink's old man is also doing alright having co-founded AWA, so they probably figure they'll figure it out and if he has the success many believe, it'll help him. Doesn't help the gap in the sport though that you're getting guys of THAT caliber who are choosing to bear a MUCH larger financial burden because they just want to be part of the program. Also feels like he could have gone to Mizzou, had a world class workout partner and made things a little more interesting, but kid made the decision that's best for him(obviously).
