Murin-Yianni - no backpoints?

So as some of you might have heard, I couldn't' watch most of the NCAA tournament, so I didn't see this match until just now.  Can anybody help me understand why the situation at the end was not backpoints for Murin?  I just watched it, and the ref appears to be more concerned about looking for a non-controlled fall than the fact that Yianni's back looked to be exposed, especially at the beginning of the exchange.

Essentially you can't score nearfall points through the body in that position

I could not watch it either - but no surprise that there are some tight calls.  Yianni is a guy whose style flirts with danger, but I guess not as much as Spencer Lee.

i don't think there's any point where he's both close enough and not on top of murin

Have a link to the video you watched and a time stamp where you think the count should've started?  It's fun reviewing this stuff.  I don't remember thinking swipes should've started when watching live. Also, I don't think the Brands threw in the brick either.

Nice end of match rally by Murin, but it didn't appear that he had Yianni in a controlled pinning situation for at least 2 seconds.  Game try though. 

That said, losing by only 1 point to an eventual 4x champ was pretty impressive.

I thought first part of the exchange could have been a classic quick 2.    After yanni adjusted not so much.  
 

with that said.   I’m paraphrasing and may be slightly wrong.  Someone posted a rule in that really long thread stipulating if one of the shoulder blades is not physically touching the mat.   Then the defensive wrestler cannot be more than (?) approx 4 inches above the ground or something.   I’m not positive on the “4” inches part.  
 

as an Iowa fan.   Quick two or nothing.   I was voting for a quick 2 during the Match lol.

Below is the criteria for near fall.  Highlighted the 4 inch criteria for you.  Nothing in that exchange that I could see met the criteria

 Section 5. Near Fall

Art. 1. Near Fall Criteria. A near fall is a position in which the offensive

wrestler has the opponent in a controlled pinning situation in which any one of

the following three criteria are met:

a. The defensive wrestler is held in a high bridge or on both elbows;

b. Any part of one shoulder or scapula, or the head is touching the mat and

the other shoulder or scapula is held at an angle of 45 degrees or less to

the mat; or

c. Any part of both shoulders or both scapulae are held within four inches

of the mat.
