Should the NCAA bring back 118 & Unlimited?

No

Although on second thought, with the current food price inflation maybe in ~10 years we will not to temporarily (say 5 years) drop all the weight classes down by say 10% to reflect the loss in weight of the general population due to this here high inflation era.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just now, Scouts Honor said:

is there a glut of 110 pound college kids who want to wrestle

or a glut of 400 pound blobs....

in todays culture those 400 pounders aren't gonna want to  work very hard

118 might be fun to watch

400... not so much

most people can't stand to watch 285 dance...

If the tweeners don't like it then they can just cut harder or lift more. That's what the tweeners of today are always told.

Sincerely,

Too big for 197 / too small for 285 who is tired of hearing "no 220er competes after HS" like yeah no shit it's because there is no point except for the blue chip elite so why waste the few precious years of my youth. If you give opportunities you would be shocked to see increased results.

They raised the weights due to a weight cutting issue.   That is now gone.  I think going to 118 is fine because of the strictures of how much weight is cut and all that.

I don't think unlimited should be tried.   You go go to 320 I suppose but those guys are football players anyway.  I say just add 118.

If there was a 215, which current guys would thrive there?

Braxton Amos, Ethan Laird, Michael Beard, Tanner Sloan.  Not sure how many others currently would benefit from that class but I could be missing a bunch

Imagine Kollin Moore or Kyle Snyder at 215 in college...

NCAA should align with freestyle senior weights.  Allows for smoother transition to world level achievements and guys can settle in weights more efficiently and effectively.

I am 10000% on board with this.  I also think Greco and Freestyle need to align as well and I think aligning the women's weights with the men's (where they are close) makes sense as well.

Curious, how does DT's freestyle weight align with his college weight?

Off the top of my head in addition to those you listed I can think of Jacob Warner, Thomas Penola, Lucas Davison, both Elam brothers, Truax, Christian Carrol (incoming), Pete Christiansen (will possibly never make a varsity start at Wisconsin).

Anthony Cassar, Jacob Kasper, Ty Walz, and Derek White are other recent high success contemporaries

Christiansen got the start against Minny in Feb 21, and lasted over 3:00 against Gable.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.
