After Spencer leaves, there isn't even anyone who can be the next Spencer

Looking at the current crop of underclassmen and even the incoming class, there doesn't seem to anyone who can "be the next Spencer Lee".  Meaning the next dominant 4x NCAA champ who totally dominates and pins everyone.

Is there someone I don't know about who has the potential to be the next Spencer Lee?

Is Cody Chittum the closest?

Lee is a singularity. But there will be other greats in the future.

He has "only" been the top seed at his weight twice in the tournament.

Gibson is not even the top recruit in his weight class. Jax Forrest or Bo Bassett could be the next guy

Lee is a force of nature.  I don't expect to see anyone replicate the way he tore through NCAAs (including destructions of a past and future NCAA champ) a year after major knee surgery and nine months after graduating from high school.

It's much easier to dominate at the very lowest weight (compared to other weights), especially for a guy who stayed there (what?) for 6 years. 

It's extremely hard to dominate at middle and upper weights for younger guys because your body is not fully mature and your opponents often are.

Lee has enormous hand and arm strength and most guys outgrow 125.  It's very difficult for someone to stay there for 3 or 4 years.

Trying to be dismissive for effect.  Blue chip prospects are just that, and Lee was the best get at his weight.

The point I was trying to make is Spencer wasn't always considered automatic in college. Gimpy knees and the footwork of Sebastian Rivera sometimes made me doubt him.
