I will probably be dead wrong but Hamiti is flying high and really confident. O'Toole has been knocked down a peg by Carr. I want KOT to win the weight but think the odds are not in his favor. Mentioned this in another thread, but O'Toole said that Carr's reach and length gave him problems. KCMO2 Posted March 10, 2023 Share Posted March 10, 2023 Not worried about O'Toole at all, he is wrestling fine. He just hasn't been able to figure out Carr yet. He did make some adjustments after Carr's convincing initial win, and you could have flipped a coin in their second match. A lot of people (myself included) think he could have won that match had he been correctly awarded the takedown in regulation. (that of course is just my homer opinion though). I've already labeled some of his opponents - Kennedy the dangerous plodder is Frazier, Amine is Chuvalo, Carr is Ken Norton, O'Toole is George Foreman. True, but you don't have to be all that big, fast, or strong to be bigger, faster, and stronger than Hamiti. Neither of these guys are near the top of the list in any of those three categories at 165. Hamiti wins the lankiest category, though. I certainly think Hamiti will wrestle a better match than he did in the All-star bout. But he likes to get into positions where O'Toole excels. The thing Carr has been able to do so well is stay incredibly patient when in on shots to keep Keegan out of those same funky Askren positions. You serious? If a basketball team says they have trouble with size you don't tell the players to grow, you pack the paint with your biggest players and dish it inside. If O'Tools says he has a problem with reach, Hamiti should favor positions that take advantage of his length. Adjust stance and ties to make it harder to get at legs, gets arms out first from bottom, de-compactify body position when O'Toole forces scrambles, look for cradles, and so on. Hamiti did look a LOT quicker and just...more relentless on his attacks. I don't know if he'll beat KOT, but...damn, he looks good. A lot better than he looked just at that time. Carr and Hamiti are built pretty similar. It'd make sense he'd try and watch what Carr has had success with. Hamiti is a different dude though. I see people compare him to Ali(I know half jokingly, but the inference that he's smooth). He looks herky jerky to me. Not really all that smooth at all. Ends up doing the same and being effective, but...he looks a little funny. 165 is gonna be exciting. think it's a lot lower % that we get a 3rd KOT-Carr matchup than most are predicting. If that's Carr getting upset or KOT, IDK. Amine could beat O'Toole and Griffith, we just keep writing that kid off and for no good reason!
