Here's what it comes down to. Brands has always gotten big time recruits because of the Iowa name he inherited.  As far as coaching, brands has shown he doesn't make his guys much better. Manning on the other hand, doesn't always get the top recruits but coaches them up. Better coach manning,  but recruits Brands. But you do see nebraska has closed the gab and if not leap frogged now and for years to come

Guys like McDonough, Borschel, and St John  don’t win a title at Nebby. That’s a fact.

Iowa destroyed Nebby in the dual, they are beating Nebby in the tourney and you’re talking about the gap being closed? You’re delusional.

Manning and Nebby got Jordan Burroughs, maybe the best US wrestler of all time, and hasn't coached a champion since then.  This is amazing coming on the heels of your dual prediction.

Will Lewan has had three SV wins.   One 4-2 loss and one 4-2 win.

He wins the "Slow Drying Paint" Award  this year.

He is the Jason Tsirtsis of Michigan ... except without a NCAA titleI'm really busy now watching paint dry. Can I possibly ignore you another time? | Watch paint dry, Funny quotes, E cards

Nelson Brands finished a close second for the award

and 7th among 135 pounders

i believe manning was THE ONLY DI offer

I agree, but that still doesn't explain the complete absence of champs since Burroughs.  Not when you're (not you specifically) comparing Manning to Brands. In general, Manning has been doing a great job, but that's not the conversation we're having.

you never mention the lack of champs BEFORE burroughs...

manning didn't inherit the gable dynasty

the conversation is... IOWA has competed well i agree, but have they KEPT UP WITH THE TIMES

other than lee, is there another iowa champ since 2010? maybe ramos?

since 2005? metcalf ?

perry?

now again, this is using your metric....success

im saying using better wrestling technique... keeping up with the times

I disagree. I think JB wins one at any Big10 team he goes to…. and hell, his sophomore season he was handled by an Iowa guy who won the title. Face it, Iowa has way more champs and develops champs more consistently than Nebby does. Get over it.

Wow.  Levi Haines.  Knocks off undefeated #1.

What will his seed be at NCAAs?

Good question and good luck to the seeding committee.  That's Robb's only loss and it was on the biggest stage they have had so far this year.  Based on that, I could still see O'Connor as 1, Robb as 2, and Haines as 3, with Andonian as 4

Nude college atheletes? There's an NIL for that...

(maybe)

Yeah, not sure if Manning would be cool with one of his wrestlers getting an NIL deal with a pornographic magazine/website

Hamiti has been great this year, but honestly, compared to last year, it was almost a sophomore slump, compared to expectations.  This fire he is showing against Kharchla here is something he has not been sustainably doing for the rest of this season.  Hope he can keep it up

Shocked they didn’t call the pin
