Spencer Lee is an amazing two minute college wrestler 🤼‍♀️

There is an illness in the room every time Spencer looks vulnerable or loses. I imagine he is on the precipice of his 4th mono infection.

Iowa fans are the biggest snowflakes in all of sports. The reality is that Spencer is an all-time talent who has had too many major injuries. His knees are shot. And he is absolutely vulnerable after the first period. He is the Mike Tyson of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out! It’s almost impossible to get out of the first period against him but if you do your chances of beating him goes up drastically.

His knee injuries are why I don’t think he will ever be a successful international guy. His knees are already done. It’s a shame because a healthy Spencer could win an Olympic gold. He’s that good.

I don't believe JC wouldn't say those things. Other than that, you're spot on. Well done...

Thought Lee wrestled high school in Pennsylvania?

As the finest wrestling state in the country, a title in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania stands above all the rest. Therefore, a PA championship is worth a title in the other 49; thus the legend of States was born.

Win one in Pa and you have won all the “States”.

(Due to the inclusion of world-wide US entities: Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, etc. there is a referendum vote in the next election to consider an ever great title.)

Didn't someone mention that Bo Nickal won Republics?

But he ain’t beating the great 125 lbers including last year’s champ from Michigan. Nor s he beating Sebastian Rivera at his prime at 125!

Except for the tilt yesterday, McGee was dam close to even with a gassed Lee! I suspect Lee may have trouble at BT’s or nationals if his opponents scout the match yesterday! Wear Lee out and hang around till the third period!
Even the Purdue kid or Cronin may have a chance!

I agree that McGee was close except for the points Lee scored.

Totally 💯 agree! Knees are shot and he is done!

If by "done" you mean that his likelihood of winning a gold medal, which I'm confident he would have if he hadn't had any more knee injuries after freshman year, is very much in the air, I'd reluctantly agree.

If you mean that he's not the clear favorite at 125 in Tulsa because he didn't pin bit rather only easily beat one of his few top rivals,  not there with you.

He's still the clear, although no longer invincible, favorite to win both championship 4 and Hodge 3.

Correct.  Just as Olympics is an abbreviation for the Olympic Games, States is an abbreviation for State Championships

By State Championships you mean like basketball, baseball, wrestling etc.  But there is only one Wrestling State Championship (tho some have multiple classes but an individual wrestler can only win one class)

Same is true for the Olympic Games which include track, water polo, volleyball, wrestling, etc. multiple games.

But there is only one Freestyle wrestling Olympic competition.  Do you think Spencer can win Olympic?

In PennSSSSSSSylvania, we say things like "He placed at Sectionals, Districts, Regionals and States".

There are, of course, multiple divisions (AA and AAA) in PA.

Not sure if this helps to fully explain the use of the plural, but, hey, its traditional language in this neck of the country.

Maybe we also just like the serpent's sibilant "S".
