The MHS Chippewas were headed to individual district competition in north-central Michigan late Friday afternoon when a school van overturned in snowy conditions.
The five wrestlers and two adults were transported to Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital to be examined. One wrestler sustained a cut to the hand; no other injuries were reported.
The van was heading east on M-55 towards Grayling -- site of the district competition -- when the driver lost control, crossed into the westbound lane, and ended up on its top in a ditch.
Michigan State Police cited the driver for driving too fast for conditions.
Grayling's Athletic Director told CBS affiliates WWTV/WWUP that Manistee's coach had assured them everyone was OK, and that the Chippewa wrestlers involved in the rollover were still planning on attending the tournament.
Manistee is located on Lake Michigan in the northwest portion of Michigan's lower peninsula, about 250 miles northwest of Detroit. The high school has an enrollment of approximately 500 students.
