The purpose of the "Wrestling to Save Lives" tournament -- to be held Saturday, Oct. 27 in Canton, Mich. -- is to help save the life of someone in desperate need of a liver transplant.
The event -- taking place at Canton High School in Canton just west of Detroit -- will offer great competition for wrestlers ages 5-18 in all weight classes... plus opportunities to meet Frank Jasper, "Shute" from the classic wrestling movie "Vision Quest" and participate in a pre-tournament mini-clinic put on by legendary coach Mike Krause.
Proceeds from the event will go to Wilfredo Pacheco and his family (including son J.C. Morgan, who wrestles at Canton High) as he donates a portion of his liver to the husband of a co-worker in need of a liver transplant. Funds raised at the tournament will help cover medical expenses as well as expenses during recovery which could take 3-6 months.
