The Eagles took seven of the 10 matches contested Thursday. UW-Whitewater took a 3-0 lead after the first match at 125-pounds as Mike Schloegel earned a 6-2 decision over UW-L's Joey Nelson.
UW-L came back to win the next six matches. Adam Sheley earned a 3-2 win over Jake Fredrickson at 133-pounds followed by Bebeto Yewah's win by fall at 4:17 over the Warhawks' Kyle Logsdon at 141 to make it 7-3.
Brady Schrupp, JR Lewis, Kevin O'Brien and Mike Schmitz won consecutive matches by decision for UW-L. At 149, Schrupp defeated Alex Cizek (8-4) while Lewis beat Corey Schmidt (8-3) at 157-pounds. O'Brien then won by decision (2-1) over TJ Decker at 165 and Schmitz defeated Reid Dickerson at 174 (8-3).
UW-Whitewater's Dave Dwyer defeated UW-L's Grant Miller by decision (6-4) at 184-pounds, but the Eagles' Tony Piechowski earned the win by decision (4-0) against Justin Birschenbach.
The Warhawks' Corey Anderson finished the dual with a win (8-5) over Billy Mayer.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, November 19 at a pair of competitions. The Eagles will compete at the Auggie Open at Augsburg College (Minn.) and at the Olivet College (Mich.) Duals.
