Sophomore Mason Wallace opened action with a major decision at 141. He improved to 7-8 and 2-2 in league matches at that weight on the year. Sophomore Tanner Smith followed that with the first of three pins for the Mocs on the day. He moved to 22-7 overall and 5-1 in league action at 149.
The Citadel got on the board with a pin at 157, but sophomore Drew Nicholson picked up a nice win at 165 over Dazjon Casto. Casto came into the match No. 26 in the NCAA RPI, but Nicholson's 6-5 decision moved his record to 14-14 and 3-3 in league matches.
Sophomore Hunter Fortner was impressive with a 9-0 major at 174, followed by Matthew Waddell's ninth pin of the year at 184. A forfeit by the Bulldogs at 197 all but sealed the team win for the Mocs.
The Citadel added three points at heavyweight, but junior Fabian Gutierrez scored bonus points with a major decision at 125. He moved to 16-7 overall and 6-0 in SoCon matches. Junior Wade Cummings closed out the dual with his first pin of the year at 133.
