Scanlan and fellow Saint Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C.) also earned All-American honors for their performances at the national tournament. Moss finished eighth at 285 lbs.

Scanlan started the day with a 10-4 decision over No. 5 Heath Jolley (Central Oklahoma) before defeating Corcetti in the tournament finals.

Moss won his first match in the morning's consolation round as he beat the University of Indianapolis' Lynn Panko 3-2. Moss lost to Zach Majocha of the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown in the next bout, 3-1, to finish in eighth place.
