Sanders hired as volunteer assistant at NWU

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska Wesleyan University Head Wrestling Coach, Brandon Bradley, is excited to announce that Robert Sanders will be joining his staff as a volunteer assistant. It was announced in July 2015 that wrestling would be added as a varsity sport in the 2016-17 school year.

Over the past several years, in his capacity as the Executive Director of Nebraska USA Wrestling (NEUSAW) and Assistant Director of the Nebraska Wrestling Training Center (NWTC), Sanders has dedicated his efforts to the development of successful youth wrestling programs throughout the state of Nebraska. As a result of his efforts, Sanders has elevated state-wide wrestling participation throughout NEUSAW. His experience and established relationships will immediately benefit NWU in our recruiting efforts, as we build on the establishment of our new wrestling program.

Sanders was a four-year starter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was a member of the 2009 Big 12 Championship Team, and was a University Freestyle All-American in 2007.

Sanders stated, “It was a no-brainer,” when extended an invitation to join Coach Bradley at NWU. He is very aware and excited about the immense support that the NWU athletic department has committed to the new wrestling program.

Sanders is a 2009 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He holds a Bachelor in Dietetics Nutrition & Exercise Science.
