The Monarchs (11-7) started off with a 12-1 major decision at 125 when redshirt freshman Jerome Robinson overpowered Chance Credeur. The Camels (9-13) knotted the dual up at 133 when Joey Rizzolino downed sophomore Scott Festejo, 14-5.
ODU then reeled off six consecutive wins beginning at 141 when freshman Taylor Moeder saw his first collegiate dual action and defeated Jordan Tolbert, 6-1. At 149, redshirt junior Brennan Brumley pinned Mark Hartenstine at the 1:01 mark for his second fall of the season.
Earning major decisions were a pair of ranked wrestlers for ODU at 157 and 165 as redshirt sophomore No. 27 John Nicholson defeated Nick Rex, 18-5, and sophomore No. 27 Tristan Warner downed Paul Duggan, 13-3, to give ODU a commanding team lead.
Senior No. 13 Te Edwards took care of James Cook at 174 pounds, 7-3, and redshirt sophomore Billy Curling earned a major decision over Matt Cox at 184 pounds, 14-2.
Splitting the final two matches, Campbell's No. 33 John Weakley slipped past senior Joe Budi at 197, 4-2. At heavyweight, redshirt freshman Matt Tourdot pulled out a thrilling 3-2 decision over Joe Nolan as ODU moved to 11-0 all-time against Campbell.
The Monarchs travel to Blacksburg now for a Sunday evening affair at 6 p.m. when they face No. 23 Virginia Tech (6-4). The Hokies lost on Friday evening at No. 10 Oklahoma, 19-12.
