    North Carolina picks up win over Maryland

    COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The UNC Tar Heels improved to 5-6 in dual meets with a 19-15 victory over Maryland in their first ACC match.

    Carolina won six of the 10 weight classes in Sunday's match, led by 17th ranked Keegan Mueller's win in the 165 pound weight class. Mueller improved to 23-6 with the win.

    Justin Dobies recorded the Tar Heels' first victory of the match over Patrick Gilmore, improving to 17-7 overall. Maryland then followed with three straight wins to take a 12-3 lead going into middleweights.

    The Tar Heels then reeled off five wins in a row to clinch the match. After Daniel Llamas' win in the 184 pound class, the Tar Heels 19-12 lead assured them of a win.

    UNC's next appearance will be a doubleheader on January 17, with matches against Belmont Abbey and Davidson.
