    No. 5 Loras knocks off No. 21 Stevens

    DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The fifth-ranked Loras wrestling team remained undefeated and won its 10th consecutive dual of the season, winning six bouts on its way to a 28-16 defeat of No. 21 Stevens. Sophomores Eddie Smith and Guy Patron Jr. won by fall while senior Jimmy Davis recorded his ninth tech fall of the season.

    TURNING POINT
    - Facing a 12-4 deficit, the Duhawks received a tide-turning performance from senior Jimmy Davis … With three four-point near falls in the first period, Davis secured the tech fall and pulled Loras within three points of the Ducks

    NOTABLES
    - Davis increased his four-point near fall total to a team-best 19 while recording his ninth tech fall of the season, which is tied for second in Division III with Kyle Koser of Messiah
    - Smith became the fifth Loras wrestler to reach the 15-win mark this season with his first period fall at 165#
    - Senior Awais Arain compiled a majority of his points via takedown as the Bolingbrook, Ill. native tallied six takedowns in his win by major decision
    - Loras remains undefeated at 10-0 this season, with five of those wins coming over ranked opponents … The Duhawks are one of two teams in the NWCA Top 25 that are undefeated in dual action
    - Thursday's win extended Loras' best start in program history at 10-0 ... Based on available historical records, the program record for dual wins in a season is 16, which the Duhawks could match against Cornell on Jan. 25 and break on Feb. 2 at home against Dubuque
