Two-time state champion Marcus Coleman (Ames, Iowa) will be staying very close to home for college, as he verbally committed to Iowa State University on Monday afternoon.
The projected 174/184 pound wrestler in college ended the 2015-16 season ranked No. 16 overall nationally at 170 pounds, and is currently ranked No. 42 overall among all Class of 2017 prospects nationally.
Coleman joins No. 13 Austin Gomez (Glenbard North, Iowa) as a verbal commit to the Cyclones' 2017 recruiting class. He was also a Cadet National freestyle runner-up last summer, after winning Cadet folkstyle during the spring; and this spring placed fourth in Junior folkstyle.
