Coming off the heels of Penn State winning its sixth national title in seven years this past weekend, the Nittany Lions landed another bit of good news. This development comes on the recruiting front where Gavin Teasdale (Jefferson Morgan, Pa.) switched his verbal commitment from the University of Iowa to Penn State.
Ranked No. 4 overall in the Class of 2018, Teasdale originally made a verbal commitment to Iowa eleven months ago. He now has changed his mind, and has committed to Penn State. The three-time state champion is undefeated for his high school career, and his ranked No. 2 nationally at 126 pounds. Teasdale is also a two-time UWW Cadet World Team member in freestyle.
He projects to compete as a 125/133 in college. Teasdale is the third top five wrestler in the junior class to announce their commitment to Penn State, joining No. 3 Travis Wittlake (Marshfield, Ore.) and No. 5 Roman Bravo-Young (Sunnyside, Ariz.). Also committed in that class is No. 14 Joe Lee (Evansville Mater Dei, Ind.)
