The runner-up finish at 152 pounds in the Super 32 was Racer's second placement in that tournament, finishing eighth the previous year. This fall, he also placed third at the Preseason Nationals at 160. Racer was a state runner-up this past year at Bettendorf, having placed second and then first when competing for Apple Valley as a freshman and sophomore in Minnesota. He projects as a 157/165 in college.
