Last season, White wrestled at 197 pounds for the Huskers, compiling a 14-5 record as a freshman, and placing in three of five tournaments he entered. He also earned a place on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for spring 2015. Prior to coming to Nebraska, White wrestled at Edmond North High School where he was a three-time Oklahoma state finalist, winning back-to-back titles at 195 in 2013 and 2014. Beyond his native Oklahoma, White won the Walsh Ironman, finished third at the 2013 Junior National Freestyle Championships in Fargo, N.D., and earned runner-up honors at the 2013 Super 32 Challenge. He had been ranked fifth nationally among recruits at 195 pounds by InterMat.
