USA Wrestling will host two international matches alongside the All-Star Classic, including the men's freestyle bout between 2013 Junior World champion Kyle Snyder of Woodbine, Maryland and Canada's Yiannis Narlidis at 96 kilos/211.5 pounds, which was announced earlier this week.
The NWCA All-Star Classic, presented by the U.S. Marine Corps, is an annual tradition featuring challenge matches between top college wrestlers, and will be hosted at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. Exhibition matches will begin at 6:45 p.m., with the college bouts to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Maroulis won a silver medal at the 2012 World Championships, and has placed four times at the Senior World Championships, finishing fifth in 2011, seventh in 2013 and eighth in 2008. She won a gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games, and added a title at the 2013 World Cup. She is a four-time U.S. Open champion, and has won gold medals in international events in Ukraine, Canada and the United States.
She was also very successful on the age-group World level, winning a Junior World silver medal in 2011, and Junior World bronze medals in 2008 and 2010. On the college level, Maroulis boasts three WCWA women's college titles, winning two for Simon Fraser University, where she currently attends, and another for Missouri Baptist University.
Maroulis made her name in wrestling as a youth in Maryland, placing sixth in the state for Colonel Zadock Magruder High School competing against boys. Currently attending college in Canada, Maroulis returns to her home region for this showcase match.
Andrades is a veteran star for Venezuela, competing in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. She has won four Pan American Championships gold medals, and has a total of 12 Pan American medals during her career. Her best international finish was her eighth place in the 2003 World Championships. Andrades won bronze medals at the 2003 and 2007 Pan American Games.
“It will be a great match. Andrades is a veteran wrestler who has been around a long time and has had a lot of success. She is a physically strong wrestler. Maroulis is an artistic wrestler who has a lot of different ways to attack and score points,” said National Women's Coach Terry Steiner.
This is only the second time that a Senior international women's freestyle match will be showcased as part of the NWCA All-Star Classic. At the 2006 NWCA All-Star Classic in Dallas, Texas, American Randi Miller defeated Stefanie Howorun of Canada, 2-0, 4-0, in a 67 kg bout. Miller went on to win a 2008 Olympic bronze medal at 63 kg.
“This is important for women's wrestling. As we just saw in getting our sport back in the Olympic Games, a large part of that was due to women's wrestling. We need to expose the women's side of wrestling to fans who haven't seen it before, those who are great college fans. They need to see it so they can have an appreciation of it as well,” said Steiner.
Hosting the event are George Mason University and the Wrestlers in Business Network – Washington DC Chapter.
