    Bennett named MAC Wrestler of the Week

    MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan sophomore Ben Bennett (Rockford, Mich./Rockford HS) has been named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week for his performance last weekend.

    Bennett, ranked sixth nationally at 174 pounds, swept all three of his matches at the Northern Quad last weekend. Bennett posted an 8-1 decision over North Dakota State's Steven Monk, a 7-1 decision over No. 10 Scott Glasser (Minnesota) and a pin in just 2:00 against Appalachian State's Carter Downs.

    Bennett is 6-2 overall this season, with both losses coming to the nation's No. 1-ranked 174-pounder, Cornell's Mack Lewnes.

    Bennett earns the conference's weekly honor for the first time this season and second time in his career.

    CMU (No. 10 InterMat/No. 11 NWCA/USA Today) travels to Las Vegas for the Cliff Keen Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
