    John selected ACC Wrestler of the Week

    COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Senior Kyle John, the 16th-ranked wrestler at 157 pounds, has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week following three victories at the Northeast Duals to help the 12th-ranked Terrapins go unbeaten for first time in five trips to the event.

    The Coopersburg, Pa., native is a first-time recipient, but is the second Terp to be selected this season. Junior Josh Asper earned the award for the week of Nov. 14.

    At the Northeast Duals, John improved his record to 7-2 with three victories including an 11-1 major decision over then-No. 19 David Bonin of Northern Iowa.

    John opened the meet with a 12-2 major decision over Bucknell's John Regan, and closed the event with 17-0 technical fall over Malcolm Martin of Central Michigan.

    The Terps return to the mat on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. to take on No. 14 American at Comcast Pavilion.
