Drexel jumped out to wins in the first six weight classes, including three bonus-point wins, to take a 24-0 lead. The Dragons then closed out the 31-12 victory with two wins at the final four spots.
Tanner Shoap opened the afternoon with a 7-6 decision of Jacob Martin at 125 pounds. At 133 pounds, No. 4 Austin DeSanto returned to the lineup to earn another first-period tech fall over Garrett Lambert, 18-3. Julian Flores earned the Dragons' 39th win by fall of the year with a third-period pin over Vinny Vespa at 141 pounds, followed by Evan Barczak's 4-0 decision win over Ryan Burkert at 149 pounds. At 157 pounds, No. 24 Garett Hammond continued to push the Dragons' lead with an 18-8 major decision over Chris Mauriello, while No. 33 Ebed Jarrell outlasted Ricky Stamm at 165 pounds, 4-3. After a loss by fall 174 pounds, No. 28 Alex DeCiantis got the Dragons back on track with a 12-3 major decision win over Anthony Olivieri at 184 pounds followed by No. 16 Stephen Loiseau earning the 6-3 decision over former Dragon Nezar Haddad at 197 pounds.
The Dragons return to the mat Sunday afternoon when they host No. 21 Rider at the DAC at 1 p.m.
