Bucknell won nine of the 10 bouts in the match with Gould posting the most impressive win of the night. Gomez-Rivera came into the bout ranked in the top 20 nationally at 133 pounds and Gould broke a 0-0 tie with an escape in the third period and then added an extra point with riding time to win 2-0. Gould was the more aggressive wrestler in the bout, which followed the only loss for Bucknell and gave the Bison a 10-4 lead four bouts into the match.
Hoffman finished off the match with the most exciting win of the night. He scored six of his eight points in the final period to come back from a 5-2 deficit and defeat Jason Grimes 8-6. Hoffman tied the score on a stall warning in the final 15 seconds, and he then posted a takedown of Grimes as time expired to clinch his 15th win of the year.
Bucknell had two bonus-point wins in the match as Tom Sleigh opened the night with a major decision at 197 and Tyler Smith recorded a major decision at 141. The Bison's third nationally ranked wrestler - Victor Lopez - won by a 3-1 score at 157 for his 99th career victory.
Tyler Greene (285), Seth Hogue (149), Joey Krulock (165) and D.J. Hollingshead (174) each posted a win by decision in the match. Greene fought off a late takedown to post his fifth straight win, while Hollingshead had more than three minutes of riding time in his shutout victory over Joe Salvi.
Bucknell will complete its two-match weekend on Saturday with a noon match against Sacred Heart at Sojka Pavilion. The match will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
