BU (1-4) finished with two technical falls and two major decisions to hand the Wildcats (2-4) their second defeat of the day after Davidson fell to Sacred Heart, 22-19, in the first contest of the evening.
The Terriers jumped out to an 8-0 lead behind senior Bubba McGinley's 4-0 decision at 125 and sophomore Dane Harlowe's dominating 15-0 technical fall at 133. The Wildcats responded with a 6-5 decision over junior Peter Ishiguro (141) and pin against senior Nick Tourville (149) two minutes into the match.
BU came right back though and won four of the final six matches with one of the two losses coming by result of a forfeit at 197. Ranked No. 13 in the country, senior Nestor Taffur (157) finished with a three-point near fall in the second to claim a 16-1 technical fall to remain undefeated in dual action at 5-0.
Sophomore Matt Belikov (165) followed with his first dual win of the year by defeating Davidson, 13-5, for the major decision. Junior Mitchell Wightman (174) then earned a 10-3 decision to give the Terriers a 20-9 advantage.
Competing at 184 for the first time this season, sophomore Colin Saunders dropped a 13-4 major decision. With the win by forfeit at 197, the Wildcats cut their deficit to one (20-19), putting the final team score in the hands of senior Kevin Innis and Davidson's Eddie Isola.
Innis left nothing to chance and controlled the entire match for a 9-0 major decision and the 24-19 team victory.
The Terriers will remain at home and host Navy next Saturday (Dec. 14) with action set to begin at 5 p.m.
