    Oklahoma State tops Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Oklahoma State wrestling notched four bonus-point wins, pushing its way past the 25th-ranked Princeton Tigers at Jadwin Gymnasium, 27-12, on Saturday afternoon. Derek White and Jacobe Smith gave the Cowboys a late push with two first-period falls after Daton Fix and Kaid Brock picked up bonus-point wins in their matches.

Fix earned his 11th technical fall this season with a 22-7 win over Princeton's Jonathan Gomez. The Cowboy scored 10 takedowns in the bout with four coming in the final period. Brock nabbed the Pokes' second bonus-point win of the match when he defeated Marshal Keller, 16-2. Half of his points in the match came in the final period.

Smith notched a fall in the first period of his bout with Kevin Parker, and Derek White domination at heavyweight continued when he notched a fall in just more than two minutes over Obinna Ajah. White now has five falls on the season.

The Cowboys held only a three-point lead through six matches. Kaden Gfeller suffered his first loss of the year to the top-ranked wrestler at 149 pounds. Matthew Kolodzik defeated Gfeller, 8-3. Jonce Blaylock stepped in at 157 pounds, and Andrew Shomers bumped to 165. Both of them fell in close decisions. Dakota Geer faced No. 3 Patrick Brucki at 197 pounds, where he lost an 8-4 decision.

"They're our toughest match on the road, so credit their staff and much improved team," said coach John Smith. "They're very competitive, and we need to refocus and get ready for tomorrow."

No. 4 Nick Piccininni notched a quality win by decision against No. 10 Pat Glory. He took the 9-4 bout, with six of his points coming from turns. After entering the 174-pound rankings, Joe Smith defeated Travis Stefanik, 11-8, in his first dual of the year.

The Cowboys are back on the mat tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. EST against No. 24 Rutgers. Fans can watch the match on FloWrestling and follow along with @CowboyWrestling on Twitter.
