PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Head coach Chris Bono has announced that Wisconsin's Evan Wick will not be competing at this weekend's Big Ten Conference Wrestling Championship due to an unexpected medical condition.
"Due to an unforeseen medical condition, Evan is medically withdrawing from the Big Ten tournament," Bono said on Saturday. "In the best interest of Evan, at the direction of our medical staff, we decided to hold him out of the championships. We hope that he will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament."
Wick, a redshirt junior from Murrieta, California,is seeded third in the 165-pound weight class at the Big Ten meet. He is 28-4 on the season, ranking second on the team in wins.
