Air Force was dominate from start to finish, as they won 21 of 25 matches contested on the day. 15 of the 21 wins were via bonus points as well.
Leading the way with a 3-0 day was sophomore Tommy Stager at 149 lbs. The Longmont, Colo. native used a decision in the first dual, as well as a forfeit and then a major decision in the final two, to tally three wins on the day. He moves to 10-6 on the season.
Fellow sophomore Jacoby Ward was one of the most dominant wrestlers on the afternoon, as the Cincinnati, Ohio native had two bonus point wins in his two matches, winning by 16-0 tech fall in the opener against WCU, and capping it off with a 12-2 major decision in the final bout.
Elsewhere, a pair of wrestlers had two pins on the day, as sophomore Brock Jennings at 184 lbs. and freshman Kayne Hutchison at heavyweight both had two falls each. For Hutchison, all three of his wins this season are via pin.
Sophomore Tony DeCesare went 2-0 overall at 133 lbs., including a 15-0 technical fall against Simon Fraser. Fellow sophomore Casey Jumps at 197 lbs. also went a perfect 2-0, with a major decision, as well as a decision win.
Finally, a handful of grapplers won their only matches contested on the afternoon, as freshmen Sidney Flores, Jared Van Vleet, Harlan Steffensmeier, and Trey Brisker, sophomore Lenny Petersen, junior Garrett O'Shea, and senior Isaac Jimenez all went 1-0.
The Falcons will dip back into conference dual action next weekend with its first road dual of the season, as they trek up to Laramie to take on No. 12 Wyoming Friday, Jan. 18. Action against the Cowboys is set to begin at 7 p.m. MT.
